Kendall Jenner Wears McQueen

Supermodel Kendall Jenner made history by wearing an Alexander McQueen design from the fall 1999 collection at the Met Gala on May 6. It was the first time the piece, a previous-only-mannequin-worn gown, was worn by a human. Jenner, 28, donned the exquisite couture piece on the iconic Met steps, making her 10th time attending the event.

The gown, which perfectly captured this year's theme "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion", was literal in its interpretation. "Beauty that's been slept on" was the phrase Jenner used to describe the design, pointing out that it has been dormant for 25 years. "It's literally a 'sleeping beauty'," she noted.

For Jenner, this moment was particularly special, as she felt honored to have the opportunity to wear the historic piece. She was, however, not allowed to make any alterations to the original design, "fortunately," "it fit her like a glove.".. according to Vogue.

She styled the top with a pair of white straight-leg jeans and matching white sneakers.

Breaking up the light color palette of her outfit, the 818 Tequila founder accessorized with a black leather belt, rectangular black sunglasses, and tiny silver hoop earrings. She wore her dark brown hair parted down the middle in nonchalant waves, while the rest of her glam included sun-kissed skin and a nude lip.
