Cara Delevingne On Playing Sally Bowles In 'Cabaret'

Note from the publisher: As the producer of our publication, Gala Gordon, recently discussed in an interview, the current theatre scene is filled with noteworthy productions. One such production is the multi-award-winning revival of Cabaret at London's Playhouse Theatre, starring actress Cara Delevingne in the lead role of Sally Bowles.

I had the opportunity to speak with Delevingne, who was gracious enough to spare 20 minutes of her busy schedule to chat with me.

Delevingne, who is also a model, has been juggling her acting career with her modelling job, with a seven-show week. When I commended her on her ability to balance both, she was quick to refer to it as"... crazy." Despite her busy schedule, Delevingne has been able to dedicate a year to preparing for the role of Sally Bowles, which she admits was a challenge.

Delevingne's love for acting dates back to her early years... when she found solace on stage at the age of five.

Our contributing editor, the producer Gala Gordon , gives her take on the most noteworthy theatre productions of the moment. Here, she delves into ' Cabaret' , interviewing the latest actress to take on the role of Sally Bowles: Cara Delevingne. I manage to catch 20 minutes with the model and actress Cara Delevingne as she is on her way to Monaco for a modelling job, amid a seven-show week. I commend her ability to juggle, but she is quick to refer to the decision as “crazy”. Delevingne and I met at the beginning of our careers and, fresh out of drama school – me from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Delevingne from Drama Centre – we were cast as sisters in our first film, Kids in Love . It was then that I witnessed her innate playfulness and curiosity, two characteristics that are instrumental to her portrayal of Sally Bowles, in Rebecca Frecknall and Tom Hughes' multi-award-winning production of Cabaret at London's Playhouse Theatre.
