The Genesis GV60 Magma, a performance-oriented electric vehicle, has been making waves with its innovative features. According to engineers, this vehicle boasts artificial powertrain noises, broadcast through interior and exterior speakers, designed to enhance the driving experience. These sounds vary depending on the driving mode, with a futuristic whirring hum in single-speed operation and a simulated V6 sound in Virtual Gear Shift mode.
In single-speed operation, the GV60 Magma produces a whirring hum that rises with acceleration and falls with deceleration. This sound, while not particularly unique, is pleasant to the ear. However, when the Virtual Gear Shift mode is engaged, the sound transforms into a V6 emulation, complete with simulated rev sounds that reach a redline of 9,000 rpm. Although this sound may seem artificial in a conference setting, it is more convincing when experienced in the vehicle.
The GV60 Magma's performance transformation also involves an upgraded suspension system, featuring adaptive shocks, retuned springs, and reworked geometry. To ensure the suspension can do its job effectively, the chassis has been made more rigid. Genesis engineers achieved this by adding over 2 feet of extra structural adhesive, 20 extra weld points, and L-shaped brackets to the rear quarter sections of ← →
