Cate Blanchett made a flavorful style statement while attending the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival.
At the afterparty for her new film Rumours on Saturday, the actor donned an intricate beaded vest by Balmain. The top, fresh off the label's Fall/Winter ‘24 runway, featured exaggerated shoulders and a peplum waist that flared out dramatically. A subtle structured collar and asymmetrical closure gave the vest a formal feel, while hundreds—if not thousands—of beads depicted grapes, cherries, blueberries, strawberries, and pears. In the best way possible, the actor looked like a walking fruit basket.
With help from stylist Elizabeth Stewart, Blanchett layered the fruity embellished top over a pair of black leather trousers. A slight crease ran down the middle of the straight-leg pants, once again proving the power of simple details. Pointed black patent leather heels finished off the actor's ensemble, while she sparingly accessorized with gold hoop earrings and a gold ring.
Blanchett kept her beauty routine simple as well, sweeping her blonde hair into an updo. Her makeup included minimal black eyeliner and mascara, paired with a pink blush and mauve lipstick. Earlier in the day, Blanchett attended the premier of Rumours in a custom glittering gold gown by Louis Vuitton. The dramatic dress featured bedazzled shoulders, a draped bust, and a floor-length train. The star accessorized with sculptural diamond earrings and satin pumps, also by the French label.
